Find the roots

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; – 2 Corinthians 10:5

Everything you see has roots.

Every child has parents, even if they don’t know who they are.

Every hero has an origin story.

Every divorce came out of a marriage.

Every shipwreck involves a formerly-functioning ship.

Every reflection has an image.

Every thought has an origin…And an assignment.

Roots.

Whatever you’re dealing with, it makes sense to find the roots and deal with them.

That’s why I started the practice of starting each blog post with a verse from scripture.

Tracing the idea that wanted to be expressed back to some element of the Word.

The problems you see aren’t the problems you need to deal with.

They’re simply the shoots, leaves and fruit.

Find the roots.

Deal with the roots.

The rest will take care of itself.
