And ye shall drive out the inhabitants of the land, and dwell therein; for unto you have I given the land to possess it. – Numbers 33:53
Winning the lottery is only the first step. You still need to show up to collect the money.
Ordering a meal in a restaurant is only the beginning. You still have to eat the food once it’s served.
And God giving you a promise, or giving you dominion or giving you access is only step 1.
Step 2 is that you need to take possession of what He’s given you.
Take what He’s given you.
Take:
- Capture or gain possession of by force or military means
- Lay hold of (something) with one’s hands; reach for and hold
- Dispossess someone of something; steal or illicitly remove
In other words, once God gives you something, you have got to exert effort and intention in order to lay hold of it.
You’ve got to actively set out to take it and live in it.
“By wise counsel wage war.” (Proverbs 20:18)
Yes it’s yours, but you have to show up to take it.
So the good news about those dreams, desires, visions and aches in your soul…is that God has given them to you.
All you have to do is decide to take possession of what God has already given you.
You’re not waiting on God. God is waiting on you.
