Work what you’ve got

He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding. – Proverbs 12:11

What you’ve got may not be what you’d like it to be…but work it anyway.

Maybe you’ve only got 2 strings on your violin, or 10 minutes a day of interrupted time. Or maybe you do your best work at night but all you’ve got is your lunchbreak.

Maybe you need a Doctor but all you’ve got is what you vaguely remember from Biology in high school.

However imperfect, inconvenient, inadequate or unsustainable it feels, work it to the hilt. Work it beyond reason. Work it till you break it, and even then, fix it up with duct tape and work it some more.

Because if you work what you actually have, it will help you get what you actually need and want.

Accept what you’ve got to work with…and then “work that thing”.
