Learning how to take a punch

“No weapon that is formed against you will succeed;

And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn.
This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And this is their vindication from Me,” says the Lord. – Isaiah 54:17

Sometimes God let’s you get punched.

Sucker punched.

By a person, situation, unexpected crisis or just the day to day happenings of life.

Before you know it, you’re against the ropes, blood seeping from an ugly cut above your left eye, with no sense of bearing other than the wave of punches and jabs and kicks that keeps rolling over you.

Sometimes God let’s that happen.

And when He does, it’s to teach you how to take a punch, teach you how to fight (Judges 3:2), teach you how to “having done all to stand” (Ephesians 6:13), teach you…from experience…

That no weapon formed against you shall be able to prosper.

Yes, it was formed. But when the dust settled, and they’d run out of punches and kicks to throw, you and God were the only ones left standing.
