looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? – 2 Peter 3:12
“What might you do to accomplish your 10-year goals in the next 6 months, if you had a gun against your head?” – Arik R
This is a rewording of a question that Peter Thiel likes to ask.
It’s a reminder that we each have a limited amount of time to accomplish all that God created us to do.
And when used as a lens to look at 2 Peter 3:12, it’s an exciting invitation to imagine how we can hasten the day of the Lord, and move into the next Dimension of life in the new heavens and new Earth. (Isaiah 65:17)
If you were to hasten the day of the Lord over the next 6 months, what would you do?
An odd question for those who don’t understand that each person’s time on Earth is simply a temporary assignment for which they must give an account.
But for those of us who believe and understand that life is a “test, trust and temporary assignment”, this question invites us to speed things up, and hasten the return of the King.
