Uprooting Mulberry trees

So the Lord said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. – Luke 17:6

It takes about 10 years for a Mulberry tree to grow from seed to maturity.

The Mulberry tree also has “aggressive roots that can lift sidewalks and strangle drains.”

And yet, despite a decade of putting down an aggressively invasive and pervasive root system, the whole thing can be uprooted…by a word.

Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea. – Luke 17:6

A word spoken by one with faith as a mustard seed.

This kind of word encounters long standing, entrenched conditions, and uproots them in a moment.

Whether it’s an 18-year crippling infirmity (Luke 13:11)…a 12-year  issue of blood (Luke 8:43)…or even a 4-day-old rotting corpse (John 11:39)…The Word spoken by one who has mustard-seed faith has the power to uproot it.

Don’t focus on the size of the tree or the depth of its root system or the number of years it’s been growing for.

Focus on what the Word says…and then speak what you believe.
