When God speaks He always creates

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. – 1 Peter 1:16

Every time God speaks, He creates.

He demonstrated this principle and set the precedent when He steps onto the stage of the opening act of Genesis 1:3 which simply says:

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

God spoke a Word, and the response was the creation – the calling into being – of Light.

That’s what happens every time God sends out a Word. When He speaks, it is to create. To speak is to create.

And just as light carries the byproduct of heat, the Word (that Creates) carries with it thr by product of Communication.

So when you see that the primary place of the Word is to Create, then all of a sudden many Scriptures take on a new light and we see them for what they truly are.

For instance, when God says “Let there be light,” He’s not expecting you to suddenly produce light. He’s expecting His Word – which carries its own power for fulfilment – to cause light to come into being.

When God says ““Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth”…that’s exactly what He expects His Word to make happen.

But when God says “Be ye holy; for I am holy”, we make the mistake of thinking that He’s communicating an exacting demand about how he expects us to behave.

He isn’t.

Everytime time God speaks, He creates.

So when He says “Be ye holy”, He’s sending out a Word to Create in you a nature that is just like His…and He’s expecting His Word to do the work, not you.

All you have to do is “be careful how you listen” and just believe that the Word you’ve received is the One to do the work.

In other words, receive the Word and don’t get in its way with unbelief.

And remember, when God speaks, He always creates.
