The future you hope for

I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. – Jeremiah 29:11

Every building you see around you is the result of a collaboration between architect and builder.

The architect conceives it in her mind and draws it out on an architectural plan…and the builder constructs what he sees in the plan.

It’s the same with God and you.

God has already drawn up architectural plans for the life He designed you to live. The plans He has on file for you are plans for good and not of evil. And most importantly, they are plans to give you the future you hope for.

Now since faith is the substance/building material of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1), hope plays a critical role in determining the material being used to build what’s in God’s architectural plans for you.

And the material you use determines the nature of what is able to be built.

(You can build a chicken coop out of bits of wood and twine…but you need steel rod and reinforced concrete to build a skyscraper.)

So even though you’re in Babylon – the place of confusion by mixing – be careful to keep your hope and expectation alive, clear, expressive and daring…because God’s plans are committed to giving you the future that you hope for.

And since it’s God who’s doing the work of making you into what He created you to be…you might as well hope for a future that is so outrageous and improbable, that everyone who looks at your life comes to just one conclusion:

The signs You are doing are proof that God is with You. (John 3:2, Voice)
