Mistaking kindness for weakness

With patience, you can make anyone change their thinking, even a ruler. Gentle speech is very powerful. – Proverbs 25:15

Appearances can be deceiving…and all that is gold does not glitter.

You’ll find this is especially true when it comes to “weak, foolish and useless” things like: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Don’t be fooled by their appearances or by the way they’re disregarded by others. They’re much more powerful than you realize, and they’re the tiny keys that open up the big doors of Life’s opportunities.

Think of Love, without which you are nothing. If you don’t have Love, you don’t have anything.

Think of Joy, the settled state of contentment, confidence, pleasure and delight that exists independent of circumstances or happenings.

Think of…Kindness. Think of the strength required to hold your tongue/encourage/be merciful, when you have the opportunity and justification to be cruel and “let them have it”.

Don’t be afraid to look weak because you’ve chosen to be patient, kind and gentle. These qualities have the power to transform everyone you encounter. And best of all, when you position yourself in these places of weakness, you allow God to show up with His strength, because His “power is strongest when you are weak.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
